To the ZOO

This week started of with no school on Monday. We didn't have much planned, so I did some school work and played the guitar. We went to eat lunch with caroline's cousins at this really cool burger place called 'The burger stand' in Topeka. They had a lot of weirdly delicious sauces you could choose from.

Tuesday I went with my photo imaging class to the Zoo. The Zoo was quite small, but it still had a lot of different animals in it. It had a really cool rainforest part where there were exotic animals of all kinds. I had a lot of fun taking pictures of the animals.

On Wednesday I went to the doctor to get cleared for my concussion. Luckly everything was fine, so I am able to play basketball. After school I had a dinner at the basketball coaches house. We went over some of the plays from last year and they talked about what the stragedy should be for this year. I can't wait to begin trainings. Eventhough I don't know that much about basketball, I am really looking forward to be part of a team again.

Thursday it snowed! So crazy how one day it is sunny and chilly outside and the next day is a full on snow day. We went to take pictures with the basketball seniors in our jerseys. I don't know how the pictures turned out. On one of the pictures I had to spin the ball on my finger, I'm curious to see them. That night I went to the gym with my hostmom. It felt good running and working out again since I haven't been able to do that much since I came here.

Friday was a really fun day. We went to kansas city after school to eat at a sushi place called 'Stix'. The food there was amazing. After dinner we walked around the mall, but only for a little bit because it was extremely cold. On the way back we stopped to get coffee at Dunkin Donuts. I burned my mouth really bad because I was to impatient to wait to drink my coffee, but the donuts still tasted very good.

Saturday I had to get some stuff for basketball. In the afternoon some friends and I went to 'Sk8te away'. It was so much fun. Especially seeing them struggling to rollerskate. I struggled a bit in the beginning, but after awhile I got the hang of it. In the evening we went to the school play. It was about Greek mythology, but they had their own different twist on it. They served delicous cheese cake at intermission.

Today we had a pre-thanksgiving dinner at my hostfamilies uncle's house. I sadly burned the apple pie I wanted to bring to it. There was a lot of food I had never tried before or even heard of. And ofcourse delicious desserts.

I ate a lot of delicious food this weekend and got to try a lot of new recipies. I am excited for my first basketball practise tommorow. My first practise starts at 6 am where we have to run 20 suicides and afterschool we have another practise. Hopefully I can keep up with the rest.
