This week was like a rollercoaster. My week started off not so great. Monday I got my money stolen. Even in another country something bad can happen, but luckily I could distract my thoughts of of it because on Tuesday I went on a super fun trip. We went to the art museum in Kansas City with our art club. We got a tour of the museum and the guide showed us lots of paintings from the realism and romantasism time period.

After the museum we went to eat at Rudy´s, which is a mexican place. We then went to a workshop where we made tin skulls for the day of the dead (Dia de los muertos). It's and mexican holliday to celebrate and remember your loved ones that passed away.

Wednesday I had to turn in my portfolio for creative writing. We went around the room and looked at each others portfolio. I really liked making the portfolio and I put a lot of effort into it. At night we had ASL lesson again. Wednesday was also the last schoolday for that week.

On Thursday I went with my hostmom to her work since I had no school that day. I got to help her wash one of her dogs that day. On the way to drop off the kids before work we saw a herd of bisons. It was pretty spectacular to see.

When we picked up our mail that evening I got a letter from the school saying I'm on the Honor roll. I also had no tardies the first semester so that ment I can opt out of one of my exams which is pretty neat.

Due to some recent changes I decided to change hostfamilies. Nothing bad happened and I am sure we will see each other throughout the year. As a thank you gift I made my old and new family both a traditional dutch apple pie.

Saturday was the last day with my old hostfamily. We went to eat at the casino's all you can eat breakfast. I was overwhelmed with all the choices and I definitely ate way to much. After breakfast we went to see one of their friends, but he wasn't home. We still got to pet all the animals and he had this cute little donkey.

So yesterday I moved in with my new hostfamily. They made me feel very welcome. I went to them to church and this afternoon they are having their family over. I am grateful for all the wonderful people who are willing to take care of me and I appreciate all the help I have gotten so far.
