This week started off a bit unusual. When I walked into school on wednesday there was an announcement that we were on lockdown. It was pretty weird to experience something like that and the whole school had a different atmosfeer. Luckely nothing happened and I hope I won't have to experience something like that again.

To get our minds of the whole situation, I went with some friends to get frozen yoghurt. I was so excited to finally get frozen yoghurt that I started speaking dutch spontaneously. Mid sentence I realised that they didn't have a clue what I was talking about. But my friends thought it was very funny. At this place you could tap the frozen yoghurt out of the wall. Yes, out of the wall. And they had endless topping options. It was so good that we already made plans to get it again.

On friday I had my first pep rally and football game. The pep rally introduced us to all the varsity teams and we got to see the cheerleaders, band and dancers perform. They also held a 'kiss the pig' contest where the coach with the most votes had to kiss the pig. It was pretty hilarious. A few friends picked me up to go to the football game. Eventhough the team lost, it still was amazing to watch. The half-time performances were so good and everyone felt the schoolspirit.

Saturday was amazing. I got to go to the annual Potawatomi powwow. There was a lot of dancing and singing and I have never seen anything like it before. It was so cool to see this part of the world. After I shared an amazing funnelcake with my friend. I got to see her perform a traditional two-step dance. It was an amazing day and the people there were very welcoming. I feel so blessed to get to experience so many things in such a short amount of time. I'm happy to be here.
