This week was all about prom preparations. On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday we just had regular school. We did go shopping for prom jewelry and other stuff after school.
On Thursday we had 'Grim reaper' day. Every year the SADD club orginazes this day to bring awareness to casualties that happen because of drunken drivers. Every 53 minutes the 'Grim reaper' picks 5 students and we painted their face white. They couldn't talk for the rest of the day. This was to mimic the effect if those students were to be victims of DUI accidents.
Later that day we went to a book talk from Angie Thomas. We had to read the book 'The Hate You Give' in my young adult lit class. We all went to see her talk about her book and why she wrote it. She was really fun to listen to and she explained a lot about the book and how it is present in today's society.
On Saturday we had our prom! we started of the day by getting some breakfast and some coffee at PT's. After that we went to watch the Benedictines volleyball team play a game. At 12.30 we had our hair appointment. The lady that did my hair was really nice and she did a really good job. We then got ready at home and headed to the party bus at 4.30. We all had dinner together and the bus ride to prom was really fun. Prom itself was really different then the prom I had in the Netherlands. After that we went to after prom. We came home at around 4 in the morning the next day.
